  • 1 broccoli
  • 400 g of minced beef

For the marinade

  • 4 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • Juice of a lime
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper

For the sauce

  • 1 minced clove of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 200 mL of beef stock
  • 4 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of sriracha

  • Prepare a marinade with:
    – 4 tablespoons of soy sauce.
    – Juice of a lime
    – 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
    – 1 tablespoon of corn-starch
    – 1 teaspoon of pepper.
Important: do not add salt because soy sauce is already salty!
  • For the meat, you can use minced beef or cut a sirloin into small chucks.
Add the meat to the marinade and let it rest for 20 minutes so the flavours will mix.
  • While the meat is in the marinade, cut the broccoli.
  • In a pan over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of oil.
Once the pan is hot, add the meat in a single layer and let it cook for about 2 minutes without moving it.
  • Flip the meat and let it cook for another 2 minutes.
At this point, add the rest of the marinade on top of the meat so it caramelises with the heat.
  • Remove the steak and set aside in a bowl for later.
Do not remove the juices of the meat from the pan, as we are going to do the sauce with it.
  • Removing the pan from the head:
Add minced garlic and a tablespoon of cornstarch to the juices of the meat.
Mix all together until you have a paste.
  • Next, incorporate in to the pan:
    – 200mL of beef stock.
    – 4 tablespoons of soy sauce.
    – 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.
    – 1 teaspoon of sriracha.
  • Bring the sauce to simmer.
  • Incorporate the broccoli and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Once the broccoli is mostly cooked (in about 5 minutes), incorporate the meat and cook for another 5 minutes.
Try the meat and sauce, and season with salt and pepper if needed.
  • And that’s it! You have your dish ready to eat!
    We hope you like it!

  • Do not add salt to the meat in the marinade, because the soy sauce is already salty, so if you also add salt to the mix it’s going to get really salty… Wait until the dish is done to adjust if needed.
  • If you like spicy food, try adding more sriracha.
